Must-see historic station buildings

Decoration for Arashiyama Station unique to the tourist destination

Arashiyama Station has a building with latticework inspired by a traditional wooden townhouse of Kyoto and is popular among tourists. You can enjoy the decoration unique to the tourist destination such as rickshaw-shaped benches and lantern-shaped lightings.

Hattori-tenjin Station with a sacred tree

Hattori-tenjin Station is a rare station that has a sacred tree in its building. The giant tree that has been protected by local people for a long time has been watching people visiting the station as a guardian angel for the operation of the railroad system of Hankyu Railway.

To enable people to use the stations more comfortably

Keeping the platforms clean all the time

The floors of the platforms of Osaka-umeda Station are kept beautifully shiny by washing and waxing them once a month. Cleaning is performed in the middle of the night and cleaners perform careful cleanups to make the floors shine beautifully.

Welcoming passengers with seasonal plants

Plants placed at the flower spaces are replaced approximately every two weeks to show the beauty of each season. The flower spaces where carefully selected plants are meticulously placed and arranged make passing customers feel relaxed.

To make the stations safe for all customersEfforts to improve wheelchair accessibility

Kasuganomichi Station was made wheelchair-accessible

At Kasuganomichi Station, where barrier-free access was difficult, a new West ticket gate was established and a new Elevator was installed.

To secure safety on the narrow platform, movable platform gates were installed. This made the station safer by preventing minor collisions between passengers and trains and falls from the platform.

The new west ticket gate has a wheelchair-accessible ticket window, wide ticket checker, and wheelchair-accessible restroom and provides an environment where all customers, including wheelchair users, can use the gate comfortably.

We made various efforts and paid careful attention to detail to make Kasuganomichi Station sandwiched between the road and other railway companies’ tracks wheelchair accessible. We will continue to take various initiatives to ensure safer rail travel.
