Kyo-Train Garaku
The tourist limited express Kyo-Train Garaku is a railcar built by remodeling the 7000 series. To allow passengers to enjoy the atmosphere of Kyoto every time they board the railcar, each car of the six-car railcar is designed with a different season as a theme and has different exterior and interior designs.
Since the Kyo-Train Garaku was a major remodel, we used a Steel cars that can be easily Car body enhancements. The side entrance in the center of all cars has been eliminated and the "circular windows" used in Kyoto temples and shrines have been installed. The exterior of the vehicle is wrapped in gold and black. Each vehicle is designed with a theme of flowers and plants suitable for the season, and a fan is placed in the center of the circular window.
The interior of each car is designed with a wide variety of designs for each vehicle, using cherry blossoms, which are representative flowers that symbolize Japan, and Shippo (Seven Treasures) crest, which is a traditional pattern of Japan, so that you can enjoy the interior space of the car heading to Kyoto.
Cars 1 and 6 are used as spaces for Kyomachiya where you can relax comfortably. Cars No. 2 and No. 5 have a "tsubo garden" in the car. Tatami seats are arranged so that you can enjoy the scenery flowing from the circular window and the tsubo garden at the same time. Cars 3 and 4 are equipped with window-facing seats depicting cherry blossoms and aoi so that you can enjoy the mountains of Kyoto Nishiyama, and there are also single-seat seats for solo travelers to enjoy.
There is a partition between the entrance of the Side entrance and the guest rooms, and the lighting with downlights creates the image of the entrance of a Kyomachiya, and a "goodwill" with the name "Kyo-Train Garaku" is installed at the top of the central entrance.
The window glass of the side entrance door is made of vertical glass, and the lattice door type is used to create the image of a Kyomachiya.
Special notes
Rollsign device
The front and side rollsign devices have LED displays, which can display a wide variety of colors and are easy to see. The train type display alternates between Rapid Limited Express and Kyo-Train Garaku every three seconds.

Large display
A 27-inch full high-definition display is installed on the east side of the end of the coupling section of each car and promotional videos for sightseeing in Kyoto are broadcast on a signage player.

Front-view video streaming service
Kyo-Train Garaku provides a service that enables passengers to enjoy a real-time view in front of the running train on their smartphones or computers.
