Train car introduction

8300 series

8300 series

The 8300 series was introduced as a VVVF inverter-controlled vehicle for Kyoto Line, and its basic performance and passenger compartment facilities are the same as those of the 8000 series.

The front shape has a frame design, and the left and right gable windows are large and reach almost to the roof, with the display curtain device stored inside the gable windows.
In addition to installing pneumatic power windows, wheelchair space, and emergency intercom devices, the color of the decorative paneling (aluminum decora) has been improved, the risers under the seats have been finished in a light bronze color, and bronze-colored heat-absorbing glass has been used for the windows and doors.
Additionally, the driver's cab desk is equipped with a flat panel display and a monitor device for monitoring the operating status of the equipment.

Special notes

Front Shape

The initial front shape was a picture frame style, but from car No. 8303 built in 1993, the front shape was changed to a swept-back angle, and the location of the car number on the front was changed from the bottom of the end door to the bottom of the end window on the conductor's side. The front display curtain device was also enlarged.
In addition, car No. 8304, built in 1995, had the front end window glass extended further downwards, and the vehicle number was attached to the inside of the front end window glass and made illuminated.
